Michele Monserrate
Licensed Specialist in School Psychology
Hey there! I'm Michele Monserrate, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, and I've been serving students and families from pre-kindergarten to high school in local districts since 2018. My service skills involve evaluating, consulting, and special education counseling, particularly at the secondary level. I value providing top-notch care for my students and am heavily invested in positive outcomes. In the fall of 2021, I was promoted to Lead LSSP in San Marcos CISD to help create structure and stability within the evaluation department. As of the summer of 2023, I look forward to beginning my collaboration with Psychological Associates of Central Texas (PACT).
While in graduate school, I was fortunate to become President of the Association of School Psychology Students (ASPS) and make efforts toward integrating student goals with those of the university. I also took part in the CARES program (Clinic for Autism Research, Evaluation, and Support) to assist in evaluations of local clients.
Before beginning my graduate program, I taught at KIPP Austin College Prep middle school and contributed to its high-expectations, frequent-feedback culture. After teaching Early American History for two years, I moved into special education and was promoted to Coordinator for the department, managing a talented team of educators. At that time I also volunteered as Guardian ad Litem for CASA Travis County, allowing me to support at-risk youth from a different angle.
I’ve been able to lend my passion to several other causes, as well: building structure and accountability into a shared 7th grade math classroom in Austin ISD; influencing colleagues and students through teaching English as a Second Language at Namangan University while in the Peace Corps; and building relationships with adults, leading evening GED classes in my home state of Iowa.
I look forward to utilizing my skills to impact your family or school as a member of the PACT Team!
